ANTI-RAGGING SYSTEM

Ensuring Safety Through Anti-Ragging System

Podhigai College strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy toward ragging. We recognize ragging as a deeply harmful activity that can severely impact a student’s mental and emotional well-being. Hence, we are committed to eliminating this practice completely from our campus culture. In accordance with the regulations of the UGC and AICTE, an Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted at the college. This committee includes senior faculty members, student representatives, hostel wardens, and administrative staff. It monitors all activities within and outside the college premises, ensuring no act of ragging goes unreported or unpunished.

Awareness campaigns, orientation programs, legal workshops, and signature drives are regularly organized to sensitize students about the consequences of ragging. A 24/7 anti-ragging helpline is available, and complaints can be lodged anonymously through a secure portal. The institution requires students and their guardians to submit an anti-ragging affidavit during admission.

The aim is not only to prevent ragging but also to create a positive and inclusive peer environment that fosters friendship, support, and collaboration among students.

GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL

Transparent and Fair Grievance Redressal Mechanism

At Podhigai, every student has a voice—and we make sure it is heard. The college has set up a well-structured and proactive Grievance Redressal Cell to ensure that students’ academic, personal, or administrative concerns are addressed in a fair, confidential, and timely manner. Whether the issue pertains to academic dissatisfaction, faculty interactions, examination grievances, hostel-related concerns, or campus infrastructure, students can report their concerns through both online and offline channels. Suggestion boxes are available in every department, and an online grievance portal is open round-the-clock.

The Grievance Committee, comprising senior professors and student counselors, ensures objective and empathetic handling of every case. Cases are reviewed promptly, and corrective actions are taken with due diligence. Students also receive feedback regarding the resolution of their issues, promoting accountability and trust in the system.

Regular audits and feedback reviews help improve institutional policies and services. This mechanism strengthens transparency, encourages dialogue, and reinforces our student-centric commitment.
