Podhigai College of Engineering and Technology (PCET) was established in the year 2009 by the Kamaraj Educational Charitable Trust, Tirupattur. The institution is led by the renowned Chairman Thiru. Rtn.B.Ganeshmul, and Secretary Thiru.Rtn. Yelagiri V.Selvam, and is known for their commitment to impart technical education in a disciplinary environment. These pioneering educators established the Engineering Colleges with an idea of bringing out institutions with highly eminent and talented engineers to serve any part of the world.

Rtn.K.C.Ezhilarasan, well known personality in the field of Education, Economy ,Industry and a Philanthropist of par excellence, hails from Tirupattur, Tamil Nadu. Besides his business activities he concentrates on the upliftment of the economically weaker sections and minorities through education, employment, health facilities and rural development.
He envisioned a technological revolution and committed himself to establish an institution, to foster technical and higher education. He is a rare breed of educationalist, for whom quality is the way of life. A compassionate and modest person to associate with, he is quite undeterred in his conviction in executing to perfection anything that is for common good. Thanks to the full time participation of the Management and the guidance provided by learned professors, the college has achieved great heights. His matchless interest in imparting quality-engineering education elevated the college to a prominent position among the several engineering colleges in Tamilnadu.

Dr.M.Prabhakaran
Principal
Dr.M.Prabhakaran is a well known professor in the department of Mechanical Engineering He has a vast experience in teaching, Research and administration over 23 Years. He has obtained his B.E degree from Madurai Kamaraj University , P.G Engineering Design from Anna University and received his doctorate degree from Anna University, Chennai in January 2016. His specialization is composite Materials.He has guided 26 UG projects and 10 PG Projects. He has a life membership in Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
He has conducted many FDPS, Conferences and workshops on both national and International level. He has published 9 papers in the national and international journals. He holds the position of a editorial board member for an national Level Journal

Infrastructure Enhancement
By 2015, the college had significantly upgraded its infrastructure, introducing state-of-the-art laboratories, a computerized library with reprographic facilities, and a 1 GB intranet connecting 300 nodes with 10 Mbps internet speed. These enhancements facilitated advanced learning and research opportunities for students and faculty alike.
